Travel is a wonderful and life-changing experience. When it comes to expanding your horizons, there is nothing quite like exploring new places and meeting new people.
Unfortunately, very often traveling anywhere involves a trip to the airport. While traveling by plane can be fast, it can also be stressful, between the long waits and the airports and the pressure to make it there on time.
Shaina Murry was stressed out waiting for her final flight after a long trip. She was ready for it all to just be over. Then, she noticed one man and everything changed.
Shaina Murry was just one of hundreds of people waiting at the crowded airport for her flight. She was eager to get home to her husband Brad, and she was tired from her travels. Then, she noticed something unusual…

Shaina spotted a man laying down on the floor by their gate. He wasn’t napping either, he was in some sort of distress. Shaina looked around saw that no one was in any rush to help him, so she decided to take action. She went over to him to see what was wrong.

The young man was agitated and frantic, worried that he was going to miss his flight. Shaina called for medical assistance, and while waiting for help to come she talked to the young man and learned his name was Will and that he was autistic.

Paramedics arrived and declared that Will was not fit to fly. He had not had any food or water for hours. Shaina got on the phone with Will’s mom and assured her and the paramedics standing by, that she would get him food and water and make sure he got home safely.

Shaina took Will to get food and water and sat with him, keeping him company while he ate. She assured him that he could still get home, just on a flight later that day. Meanwhile, Shaina’s own flight had come and gone. The airline was so moved by Shaina’s actions that they booked her another flight free of charge.

Shaina made sure Will got on his flight and left to go wait for her own. While many people hearing her story are praising her for what they see as a tremendous act of kindness, to Shaina, helping Will was just the right thing to do.

Our own lives are so stressful that sometimes an opportunity to do the right thing can just slip us by. Kudos to Shaina for being so attentive to the needs of her fellow man.
