There’s nothing quite like strolling along the beach at night. Most of the time, it’s quiet and serene, free of the chaos of the daytime visitors. What could be better than that?

That’s probably what this couple thought as they snapped pictures of a beautiful sunset in Redington Beach, Florida. Asking someone to take a photo of them, they popped their poses and rushed over to sneak a peek at how the images turned out.

But when they looked at the photos later, they were in for the shock of their lives…

These low-light photos were taken with an iPhone at Redington Beach in Florida by a couple that was on vacation. You can’t blame them for wanting to capture this lovely sunset, can you?

Just to be sure that the camera’s low-light mode was working, they snapped a few test photographs before posing together. They didn’t see anything out of the ordinary until much later. Do you notice anything unusual?

Hint: look in the water. There’s definitely a humanoid figure standing in the waves. Yet the couple never realized it was there—and they never saw anyone behind them, which was more than a little unsettling for them.

That’s not even the really creepy part, though. It becomes much, much more disturbing when you look at the next photo and discover that the figure appears to have vanished entirely! That’s so spooky!

Whether that was a ghost or a merman, something definitely isn’t right here. Hopefully, the couple was able to enjoy the rest of their vacation without the fear of being haunted!
