The worst part of animal abuse isn’t always the physical scars. Often it’s the emotional isolation that leaves the deepest and most painful cuts in a dog’s heart. They’re social and loving creatures, and to deny them that is one of the cruelest acts of all.
Some people think that dogs who suffered that kind of abuse are so damaged that they’re incapable of properly interacting with other animals and humans ever again. To to test this theory, animal rescue organization Hope For Paws put two recently rescued pit bulls in a room together, let them off their leashes, stood back and watched.
This should come as no surprise to people who know and love dogs. Even after a lifetime of abuse, they’re able to make a connection instantly. This is why we love dogs so much!
