Celebrities Who Believe In Ghosts — And Have The Stories To Prove It

It's safe to say that the majority of people don't believe in ghosts, and there's a good reason for that. After all, we're typically raised from a young age to know that monsters and other spooky creatures are only the work of fiction and fairy tales. Yet some people sincerely believe in ghosts, including several of your favorite celebrities! The following famous folks all believe in supernatural spirits, and it's not an act. When you hear their tall tales, you might just change your mind...

1. Cher

The award-winning singer and actress left fans reeling during an online Q&A back in 2013, "I love ghosts. I actually think that Sonny [Bono] makes a light go on. I have a beautiful chandelier that he makes the light go on when it is impossible, there is no power on. I love ghosts, I prefer ghosts to some people." The star once sang, "do you believe in life after love?" But really the lyric should be, love after life. Cher's answer would clearly be a resounding yes!

2. Kate Hudson

The How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days actress claims to have seen ghosts "plenty of times," according to a clip from the DVD extras for The Skeleton Key. "I've seen a ghost of a woman with no face, and that was really creepy. Another time, my grandmother came to me, and I woke up and felt amazing that she was around me." More of the loving family members and less of the faceless ghouls, please!

3. Joan Rivers

When the late Fashion Police host splurged a multi-million dollar sum on her Manhattan apartment, it's unlikely she was expecting to share the luxurious pad with a deceased former resident. The "Queen of Mean" revealed her desperate attempts to appease a disgruntled spirit in an episode of Celebrity Ghost Stories. After ceaseless hauntings, Rivers was left with little hope, "I started to cry, and I said, 'Mrs. Spencer, I am a widow. All my money's in this apartment. You cannot do this to me. You cannot do this to me. You must, you must, must, must leave me in peace.'" The solution? A constant offering of flowers next to a portrait of the late Mrs. Spencer. Creepy and expensive!

4. Bella Thorne

"I was lying in bed when I saw a shadowy, silvery figure of an old woman creeping across my room, then it slipped into my closet," said the actress and singer. "I panicked and ran out of bed and swung open my closet door only to see she was in there. But she was gone. I was sure I had seen her ghost! It was really freaky." Perhaps growing up in a house that was built on an old Indian burial ground has something to do with her open-mindedness.
