High-End Chefs Reveal Their Favorite Fast Food Orders When They're Feeling Bad

There's just something so satisfying about seeing a celebrity chef standing in line at a fast food joint. No one expects palettes as practiced as those of Gordon Ramsay and Michael Psilakis to savor saturated fats, yet these famous foodies have admitted to having quite the soft spot for all things greasy. From a sloppy In-N-Out burger to a basket of crispy chicken from Popeye's, these fried, buttered, and breaded fast foods are enough to make even the world's most decorated chefs give into temptation.

Michael Psilakis - KFC's Fried Chicken

KFC has locations in over 145 countries across the world, and Chef Michael Psilakis from Iron Chef counts himself a massive fan. "I treat myself to KFC about three times a year. I love that crunchy fried crust. It's like the crumb on top of crumb cake; the chicken is an afterthought, really."

Matt Weinstein - Five Guy's Cheeseburger

Five Guys, named after the five brothers who started the business, is the go-to burger joint for Matt Weinstein of Biltong Bar in Atlanta. "I don't always eat at fast food chains, but when I do, I prefer the burgers at Five Guys. I always order the Bacon Cheeseburger, and I add mayo, lettuce, pickles, tomatoes, grilled mushrooms and onions. I always get a small order of fries, Cajun Style."

Duff Goldman - Sheetz Meatball Sub

Never heard of Sheetz convenience before? If you love meatballs subs, then you're missing out. "The two things I love about Sheetz are the bizarrely huge beverage selection and the meatball sub," says Duff Goldman, owner of Charm City Cakes in Baltimore. What is it about a sub from a mini market he simply can't resist? "I like the way the sauce melts into the bread and it gets all saucy and doughy."

Tim Love & Adam Biderman - Whataburger's Burger

What is it about Whataburger that high-end chefs can't resist? "It's like a fresh, clean, Texas version of McDonald's," says Tim Love, owner of Fort Worth's Love Shack and the man who beat Iron Chef Morimoto on Iron Chef America. Even chefs who own burger joints, like Adam Biderman of The Company Burger in New Orleans, are fans of the orange and white stripes. "My go-to order is Double Meat Whataburger, no pickles, no mustard, wet (as in, with mayo), and add cheese."
