Chris O'Donnell Opened Up About The Reality Of His Marriage Of 25 Years

Chris O’Donnell was one of the biggest Hollywood pin-ups of the 1990s. Who can forget how he looked in a codpiece in Batman Forever? But while he no doubt had women throwing themselves at him left, right, and center, the actor only had eyes for one: Caroline Fentress. And 25 years on, O’Donnell has revealed the truth about his marriage.

NCIS: Los Angeles

O’Donnell, of course, is no longer playing the Caped Crusader’s sidekick Robin. But he’s still busy fighting crime on our screens with a partner in tow. Since 2009 the actor has starred as special agent G. Callen alongside rapper LL Cool J in the Los Angeles part of the ever-expanding NCIS franchise.

Command in Control

You might not know that O’Donnell’s wife has also graced the same hit procedural, albeit only briefly. Yes, Fentress appeared in the fourth episode of the show’s seventh season titled “Command in Control” and has also acted in the likes of 2002 television film Sunday. But her main calling is as a teacher.

Sparks flying

Sparks first flew between the pair in the early 1990s, something O’Donnell reminisced about in a 2010 chat with Redbook magazine. He said, “The first time I kissed her, I was like, ‘Wow.’” But there was something of a stumbling block to things going any further. The Hollywood star was already close pals with Fentress’ brother Andrew — and he didn’t want to ruin their friendship.

One of the good guys

That shouldn’t come as a surprise to many. After all, O’Donnell has had a reputation for being one of Hollywood’s good guys ever since he first came to attention. In a 2000 chat with Rolling Stone magazine Batman and Robin director Joel Schumacher remarked, “The terrible scandal about Chris O’Donnell is that there’s no terrible scandal.”
