There isn’t much that matches the timeless fun and excitement of a parade. Hearing the music and watching the seemingly endless stream of colorful costumes marching down the streets is a great way to celebrate holidays and other events.

It turns out, however, that there is one thing that most parades are missing, though: geese! During Belgium’s Gentse Feesten (“Ghent Festival”), a small marching band helped some geese do something that you wouldn’t believe!

The Gentse Feesten in Ghent, Belgium, takes place on the Friday before July 21 every year and lasts for 10 days. It features several stage events, as well as street entertainment like mimes and musicians.

Perhaps the most unique feature of the festival, though, is the goose parade!

The gaggles of geese are greatly respected by the people of Ghent—as they should be!

What an absolute delight it is to see those adorable geese proudly marching through the streets. Hopefully they have as much fun at the festival as all of the humans that watch them!
