Strange 'Figure' Spotted In Night Sky Could Be Evidence Of A Government Cover-Up

In 1965, residents of Kecksburg, Pennsylvania, were shocked when they saw something blindingly bright fall from the sky and crash into the woods. Locals called authorities, but when the military arrived on the scene, soldiers refused to reveal anything about their object recovery. Something had landed in Kecksburg — but what was it?

A flying light

Kecksburg became a well-known town name in extra-terrestrial circles on December 9, 1965, when an unknown entity crashed near the town. Though the bright object fell in Pennsylvania, it was visible to thousands of other people in the Northeastern United States and parts of Canada.

Fireball

For those who saw the light fall in Kecksburg, it was more intense. Residents thought it looked like a flaming ball of fire with a conical tail drifting in its wake. John Hays was playing football when his parents learned about the nearby crash. “But when I went in the house, my dad had the radio on and they said something crashed in Acme,” John said. “Then Mom was looking out the window and said, ’It’s not in Acme. It’s right out there.’”

Randy's view

Another eyewitness, Randy Overly, described what he saw to Unsolved Mysteries: "I was playing by a creek at the time," Randy said, "and heard a deep hissing noise. I looked up in the sky and saw an object coming at me from a pretty good distance away. It flew right over the top of me, no higher in the air than 200 feet and going no faster than a small airplane."

Searching the ravine

Teams of search and rescue professionals searched for the fallen object. There were at least 30 firefighters sifting through the deep ravine that cuts into Kecksburg. They quickly found what they were searching for. It was the same size as a Volkswagon Beetle, making it simple for the group to locate.
