A person’s dying wish is usually something we take very, very seriously. As a loved one says goodbye to this world, we must strive to respect their last wishes to the best of our ability. Sometimes, though, it’s easier said than done.
The story goes that a very greedy, dying man loved his money so much that he asked his wife to bury it all along with him – leaving her with nothing. She was determined to honor his wish, but she did it in the best way possible.
This man worked all of his life and loved nothing more than his money. So much so that upon his deathbed, he made a final request to his wife.

“Now listen, when I die I want you to take all my money and place it in the casket with me. Because I want to take all my money to the after life.”
His wife said she would honor his last wish. So after he passed, she made the preparations. As he was being laid into the ground, she – dressed all in black – told the undertakers to stop. She then produced a shoebox and placed it in the casket.

She then told them to go ahead and lower the casket. Her friend who was also in attendance asked her if she really put all of his money in that shoebox and was crazy enough to listen to that “stingy old man.”
The wife replied that she was a good Christian and that she honored his last wish.
The friend was astounded until the wife explained: “I sure did,” said the wife. “I got it all together, put it into my account, and then wrote him a check.”
What a clever lady… she sure found a nice loophole in this whole “last wish” business!
