For many tourists, both Walt Disney World Orlando and Disneyland in Anaheim were viewed as being overrated for the same reasons. While dubbed "the happiest place on earth", these theme parks are viewed as being both overly crowded and expensive in the eyes of many park visitors. According to one disappointed visitor, a large portion of Disney World was closed during the park's 50th anniversary, while the prices were still extremely high. With the cost, the crowds, and the long wait between rides, the price of admission was not worth it.

With all that there is to do in Italy, the Leaning Tower of Pisa is certainly an overrated activity. Ultimately, apart from what its name suggests, there is nothing else that this particular landmark offers. So, once you've taken the stereotypical photo whereby you put your hands out to make it appear as if you're stopping the tower from falling, you can dish out $20 to climb to the top and get a mediocre view of the Italian countryside.

As the beating heart of the borough of Manhattan, Times Square is widely viewed as a must-see for all tourists in New York City. While it may indeed be vibrant and fast-paced, there is little to actually do at this enormous plaza. If you're going to a Broadway show you can't help but pass through Times Square, otherwise, the area is extremely loud, crowded, and downright chaotic.

The Louvre houses an array of priceless works of art, but it is most famous for Room 711, where Leonardo Da Vinci's "Mona Lisa" is on display. For many art and history lovers, this trip is totally worth it, however, it is the experience of fighting through the packed crowds for a small glimpse of the painting that seriously detracts from what should be a once-in-a-lifetime experience. What's more, this world-famous painting also happens to be a lot smaller than what one might expect. Still, this underwhelming experience does not cancel out all the value that the Louvre has to offer, as this museum showcases a large collection of other beautiful pieces of art which are certainly worth a look.
