Home projects can be super fun, but some are simply cooler than others. When I put together a chest of drawers for my parents I don’t usually show it off to my friends and family. But if I built THIS, I’d be showing everyone.
Jeremy and Mira Thompson spent a few years putting together their ideal micro-home: built from a school bus.
The couple began to frequent garage sales and flea markets in order to find many of the materials that went into the home.
The bus itself is 37-feet long.
The siding is made from cedar.
The stove and the fridge run on propane.
What a beautiful kitchen.
It looks like a tiny cottage or cabin!
They were careful to use the space efficiently.
Drawers around the bed nook accomplish that nicely.
They even built a lounge area complete with chairs and guitar.
The house feels so rustic.
Everything was built to be sturdy or be stored easily for when the bus is moving. That’s right – it still runs.

I’m so impressed with how that turned out, especially when I can’t install a shelf without giving up after ten minutes. Who can I pay for my own school bus home?
