Wife Gets Up From Table, Then Waitress Slips A Note To Her Husband

Whether it's a smiley face, a simple "thank you," or even a flirty phone number, waiters often leave messages at the bottom of customers' bills. Usually, they're just looking for a good tip. But when Jackie Johnson-Smith got her receipt, the message was much more personal. She thought that night would just be another normal restaurant outing with her husband and kids, but it proved to be a moment she'd never forget.

Happy Birthday, Jackie

It was July 14, 2013 — Jackie Johnson-Smith's 33rd birthday. With a trio of kiddies who were ages one, three, and four, she and her husband would've done anything for a peaceful night alone. But with no babysitter available, the whole gang went out to celebrate. However, they ended up getting more attention than they bargained for.

Fussy Baby

The Ankeny, Iowa, family went out to Fong's Pizza to kick back and nab a few slices, but, of course, it wasn't long before Jackie's one-year-old son, Stellen, started getting finicky. She just wanted one night of peace, but above all else, she was a devoted mama.

Dinner Time

Jackie rolled her eyes, knowing it was time to play the "Guess What Stellen Needs Now?" game. It would be so much easier if babies could talk. Jackie soon realized Stellen was just as hungry as the rest of the family. But a one-year-old isn't really ready to eat pizza for dinner.

Feeding Stellen

Though the World Health Organization recommends that "children initiate breastfeeding within the first hour of birth and be exclusively breastfed for the first six months of life," it also states that it's fine for children to continue breastfeeding from six months on as long as it's complementary to safe foods.
