They Released Wolves Into The Wild With Good Intentions. No One Thought This Would Be The Result.
Not so long ago, hundreds of thousands of wolves roamed nearly all of the United States. Then, an all-out war began against them, and about 70 years ago, wolves became extinct in Yellowstone National Park. By 1960, wolves were essentially extinct throughout the US.
In 1995, with the population of deer in Yellowstone out of control, it was decided after much deliberation to reintroduce wolves to the park in order to try to reduce the deer population. But the wolves didn't just kill the deer - they actually began to change their prey's behavior. This set off an incredible chain-reaction that no one could have predicted.
